These terms cover the relationship between you and Certified Sweeps — operated by Certified Sweeps LLC ("we," "us") — when you use our website or services. By using the site, requesting an appointment, or hiring us for a job, you agree to these terms.
Sweeps and inspections
- Our chimney sweeps and inspections are performed to NFPA 211 standard. We provide before-and-after photos and a written summary by email; inspections additionally include a photo-documented report.
- Booking an appointment does not obligate you to hire us for any further service. If we find issues that require larger repair work outside our core sweeping-and-inspection scope, we will document them and either offer to take the work on directly (case by case) or refer you to a specialist we trust.
- If hazardous conditions are discovered during a sweep or inspection (active fire damage, structural collapse risk, etc.) we may pause work and refer you to an appropriate specialist before proceeding.
Quotes & estimates
- Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated.
- The final price may differ from the quoted price if conditions change after the quote (e.g. discovery of hidden damage, additional work requested). We will always communicate any changes to you and obtain approval before proceeding.
Scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling
- You can cancel or reschedule a sweep or inspection appointment up to 24 hours before the scheduled time at no charge.
- For paid services, late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee equal to a reasonable amount of lost work time.
- We reserve the right to reschedule due to weather, emergencies, or scheduling conflicts. We will notify you as soon as possible.
Customer responsibilities
- Provide safe and reasonable access to the fireplace, firebox, and roof (when roof access is required).
- Ensure no fire has been burned in the fireplace within 24 hours of our visit (the firebox needs to be cool).
- Disclose any known issues (recent chimney fire, water leaks, prior repairs, etc.) before we begin work.
- Keep pets and children secured during service for everyone's safety.
SMS messaging
Our SMS program sends:
- Lead-response and inquiry confirmations
- Appointment confirmations and reminders
- "On the way" and follow-up messages related to your service

Workmanship warranty
- Our workmanship is warrantied for one (1) year from the date of completion.
- Manufacturer warranties on materials apply per their respective terms.
- Warranty claims must be reported in writing to hello@certified-sweeps.com.
- The warranty does not cover damage caused by leaks, pests, alterations made by others after our work, or acts beyond our control.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Certified Sweeps's total liability for any claim arising out of our services or this website is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in question. We are not liable for pre-existing conditions, damage caused by forces beyond our control (weather, leaks not caused by us, structural issues, etc.), or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
Website use
You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to attempt to disrupt, hack, or scrape the site, or to misuse our contact form or scheduling system (e.g., to send spam or fraudulent inquiries).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Douglas County, Nebraska.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
